Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach Holly at holly.bailey@palmottoeduconnect.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

If you're researching advocates for your child, that's often a strong sign that you may need support. Parents typically seek advocacy when a student isn't making expected progress, communication with the school has become strained, there are concerns about whether the district is following IDEA or ADA guidelines, your child's IEP or 504 plan isn't being implemented properly, or when your input as a paretn isn't being considered in decision-making. Every situation is unique, and you don't have to navigate it alone. If you are unsure whether working with an advocate is right for you, I offer a free consultation to help you explore your options.

An educational advocate can be a powerful ally when your child needs additional support to make meaningful progress. With deep expertise in special education law—including IDEA and ADA—and a strong grasp of data-driven decision-making, advocates help ensure your child’s needs are clearly understood and addressed. When a knowledgeable advocate joins the conversation, it often signals a constructive call to action. Their presence can foster stronger collaboration between families and schools, helping teams work together more effectively to create meaningful, student-centered solutions.

Holly has extensive experience, having taught students receiving special education services in both self-contained and resource service models. With over 10 years of experience as a Special Education Director, she possesses in-depth knowledge of how to navigate and resolve complex situations. Highly respected by district staff for her expertise in IDEA, policy, and instructional best practices, Holly brings a unique understanding of the system. As a parent herself, she is deeply aware of what’s at stake for your child. Holly is committed to working tirelessly to ensure your child receives the support necessary to make measurable progress, with the ultimate goal of fostering their independence and success beyond the classroom.

Holly will attend school-based meetings in person for locations within a 25-mile radius of her business address (190 Tuscan Sun Street, Summerville, SC.), provided the parent or guardian is also attending in person. For meetings held beyond that distance, or when the parent is participating virtually, Holly will attend virtually. Virtual attendance remains a highly effective option and allows for full participation, real-time input, and strategic support regardless of location.

All consultations, debriefs and parent communication takes place virtually.

Holly offers one time strategy meetings, records review session, and both hourly and package-based service options to accommodate the varying needs of families. Whether a family needs support for a specific need, single meeting or ongoing advocacy throughout the school year, services are structured to provide flexibility while maintaining clear expectations.

All services are billed at a rate of $150 per hour. Residents of Summers Corner in Summerville, SC, (coupon code: SUMMERSCORNER)  and military families (coupon code: ACTIVEDUTY) receive a 10% discount.

Specific package recommendations are discussed during the initial consultation to ensure the level of support aligns with your child’s needs and your family’s goals.

Free Consultation
A free consultation is best if you are exploring ongoing or long-term advocacy support. This session is an opportunity to discuss your child’s overall educational situation, share your concerns, and learn how advocacy services could help. It’s designed to help both you and Holly determine if a longer-term partnership is the right fit.

One-Hour Strategy Consultation
A one-hour strategy consultation is ideal if you have a specific question or situation that needs focused attention. For example, guidance on school communication, a meeting preparation, disciplinary concerns, or navigating a specific procedural issue. This session provides actionable advice, clear next steps, and support in real time.

Records Review
A records review is best if you want Holly to review an IEP (draft or final), Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), evaluation, or Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) to provide written recommendations and guidance. This service includes a follow-up meeting to discuss findings and answer your questions.

In short:

  • Free consultation: Best for families considering ongoing advocacy support or wanting to understand how Holly can help over time.
  • One-hour strategy consultation: Best for families with a specific issue or question needing immediate guidance.
  • Records review: Best for families who want expert analysis of documents and actionable recommendations.

If you’re unsure which option is right, you can always reach out via email at holly.bailey@palmettoeduconnect.com to discuss your needs, and Holly can help you choose the most effective service.
